Do you only offer running tours?

No, we also offer walking tours. Either check the calendar for running and walking tours, or book your own tour for a date and time that works for you.

How much do tours cost?

Public tours, which can be found on the calendar, are $20.

Personalized tours, which can be individual or groups, start at $30 per person. For running tours, the first four miles is $30 total, with $3 for each additional mile. For walking tours, the first three miles is $30 total with $3 for each additional mile. Discounts available for groups of 10 or more.

How fast do you run/walk?

For group running tours our average pace is 10:00-11:30 minutes per mile. For group walking tours our average pace is 20:00-23:00 minutes per mile. In the event that there are 50+ people, the average pace tends to slow down a bit.

When you register for a personalized run/walk, we travel at your pace. We'll ask what your comfortable conversational pace is and follow that for your tour. If during the run you'd like your guide to slow down or speed up, just let us know. We're here to give you the best experience possible.

I don't think I can run 4 miles. Do you run the whole time?

Let's just say this will be the easiest four miles of your life. (No joke, that's what all our previous guests have told us!) We make frequent stops at landmarks and art work. This gives your guide a chance to share a little interesting information and answer questions while also giving you a breather. If at any point along the route you need to slow down or rest for a bit longer, just let your guide know.

Do you offer longer tours?

Yes! We can personalize a tour for whatever distance you need. Personalized tours start at $30 (which covers up to 4 miles for a running tour and up to 3 miles for a walking tour) and are $3 for each additional mile. Contact us to set up a tour!

Do you offer shorter tours?

You can request a shorter personalized tour. All personalized tours start at $30.

Where do we meet up with the tour guide?

Once you register for a tour, you will receive an email with a meeting location and additional information to help you prep for your tour.

What should I wear?

Comfortable running/workout clothes and shoes. Wear what you'd sport during a personal workout or run. And dress appropriately for the weather.

What should I bring with me?

You may bring whatever you feel comfortable carrying for the length of your tour. We suggest you bring as little as possible: your phone/camera and perhaps money (for after tour sustenance).

Will you provide water on the tour?

Those who register for a personalized tour will receive a bottle of water for each runner/walker—we can carry it for you until you need it.

We do not provide water for public tours (the ones listed on the calendar). There are, however, many restaurants located at our meeting locations for pre- and post-tour sustenance.

Can we take photos while on a tour?

Of course! That's part of the fun.

Are your routes wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely.

Can I bring children?

Yes. All tour routes are kid-friendly, but please keep in mind that most routes traverse busy city streets, alleys and crosswalks. Children in strollers or baby carriers are free of charge.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Friendly dogs are welcome as long as they remain on a leash at all times. Please be prepared to pick up after your dog, if need be, along the route.

Are refunds available if I cannot make it to my tour?

No, we do not offer refunds (unless we need to cancel the tour, see below). You can, however, request to transfer your tour to another day/time if you notify us at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled tour. Please contact us for more information.

Will my tour be cancelled if there is bad weather?

Not likely. Tours will occur rain or shine. Sacramento generally has perfect weather. However, in the event of truly bad weather or emergency event (lightning, flooding, tornados, alien invasion, etc.) we will notify you of a cancellation and give you a full refund.
